PROFILE
An innovative, strategic, and high-energy Creative Director with over 16 years experience bringing great ideas of advertising to life in highly specialized therapeutic areas. Facilitating client collaboration has been key to my success and the motivation that keeps me going. As an agency leader, my motto is simple: Everyone is an idea person…they just might not know it yet!

ACCOMPLISHMENTS AS A CREATIVE DIRECTOR (last 9 years)

  • Lead the creative for a variety of product launches including OMONTYS for anemia in CKD, ADCETRIS for Hodgkin lymphoma and ATryn for hATd. Other launches include VIDAZA for MDS, VIREAD for CHB (global), REYATAZ for HIV (global), TARCEVA for maintenance in NSCLC, MIRENA an IUD, and COSOPT for IOP
  • Branded and led the launch of several many corporate entities including TANDEM, AXIOM, Alcyone, Gilead Hepatic Health, North American Scientific (NOMOS), Discovery Labs, BMS Medical Imaging and Merck Ophthalmics.
  • Led pitches presentations that won major accounts for both The Navicor Group and The Hal Lewis Group including VELCADE, ADCETRIS, TARCEVA, ETHYOL, and VIREAD for Navicor and the entire BMS Virology portfolio, CARDIOLITE and SURFAXIN for HLG.
  • Led both agencies to various industry-recognized awards including IN-AWE, RX-Award, Davey, Philly Gold and the Globals.
  • While with The Navicor Group, we were recognized as “the agency to watch” and were nominated for “Agency of the Year” at the Manny awards for two consecutive years.
  • Planned and launched an interactive department for HLG that won $2 million the first year from new and existing clients and now is 30% of their revenue.
  • Initiated HLG’s first online training program to help the art department keep abreast of the latest technological advances. At Navicor, proposed an internal accredited training program so employees could stay abreast of the science of oncology and immunology, currently we have 123 educational modules; each employee is expected to complete 6 per quarter. Personally train on digital and social media demographics and usage.
  • Created a series of brainstorming exercises called “Brain Drains” which helps involve clients and “non-creative” employees in the creative process and was awarded the company innovation award, which included a trip to St. Martins for the ideas success.

      SVP, EXECUTIVE CREATIVE DIRECTOR (2005-Present) 

      • Manage the creative and digital departments which are approximately 60% of the company including: 4 Creative Directors, 2 Associate Creative Directors of Art, 1 Associate Creative Directors of Copy, 4 Art Directors, 3 Copywriters, 4 PhD Medical Writers, 2 Designers and 5 Studio Artist and 4 Developers
      • Responsible for delivering effective promotional materials, including print, interactive, and video production.
      • Lead tactical planning, encourage unique ways to devise the client presentations
      • Primarily responsible for client workshops, particularly brainstorming sessions and large presentations. (Ask me about FORness)
      • Serve as part of the Senior Management Team and represent Navicor as an officer for inVentiv Health.

        • Drove all creative output, supervised production, and directed the work of 4 art directors, 4 graphic designers, and, in most cases, 6 copywriters specializing in personal and non-personal promotion of pharmaceuticals. Clients included Becton Dickinson, Bristol-Myers Squibb, BMS Medical Imaging, Discover Labs, and Merck.
        • Managed client proposals, contracts, and annual expense budgets, ranging from $1–3.25M
        • Lead new business pitches.
        • Served on Business Management Committee, we often brainstormed and implemented new ways to improve the agency profitability and services.

        • Provided the artistic direction, supervising several designers, for the launch of various products including Berlex’s MIRENA and CLIMARA-PRO and Merck’s COSOPT.
        • Developed brand identities and collateral for several  corporate initiatives.
        • Managed all output of Centric Medical Communications division, producing medical education materials for clients including Astra Zeneca, Berlex and BMS Medical Imaging.
        • Performed high-end digital imaging and retouching and illustrated complex medical drawings.
